Coney Island Television Studio

In early 2013 BRIC Media Education partnered with the Brooklyn Public Library to offer free and low-cost classes in several branches across Brooklyn. Our classes immediately sold out, so we looked to expand them to encompass other offerings and asked ourselves: "what if we opened a television studio at the Coney Island Library branch?"

The Coney Island Library had been wonderfully renovated after the destruction of Hurricane Sandy, and the branch staff immediately welcomed the idea of using their large performance space to create a television studio.

This collaboration has been an incredible success. We regularly hold television studio classes and training sessions, and have built a large television studio community producer community in Coney Island.
